  • My family has been attending this church for about two years. I do not believe one single word of what "Gilly" wrote below. If any of it was true, the staff would have moved on by now, but they have not. These men and women love their jobs, love what they do, and are GREAT at it. This church strongly supports missions, individual church members, and the community at large. It is awesome to watch what they have done (and are continuing to do) in our own community through Compassion Day and other outreach programs. I love what they are teaching me and my children. And, my children love the kids' programs here. I admire Pastor Doug immensely for his transparency, his honesty, and his own public admissions of what he sees as his personal faults. He's the real deal, a real man, and a GREAT pastor. He "walks the walk" and it isn't just Sunday "talk." The music is contemporary. This church is a great place for people of all ages who want to learn what the Bible teaches.

senior pastor manages to engender confidence and respect from his congregants, but the same cannot be said of his staff whom he treats with utter disregard of their needs or requirements. the board appears to have no corrective balancing powers to equalize the disparity. any disagreement regarding staff treatment is met with disagreeing staff person being severely reprimanded and even summarily discharged regardless of position, length of employment, or minor nature of infraction (even if imagined). pray that he sees the error of his ways soon.

  • My wife and I (and our children) have never experienced Christ in a deeper more intimate way in all of our walk since we have been at North Hills. If there was one inkling of what was mentioned I think this would have come out in time. I look forward to worshipping there while God has us.

We don't worship the pastor, we find ourselves experiencing Christ love through how he allows himself to be a conduit. Or even the other agreeably great staff. See the message is not about them but about Him.

Gilly, the internet is a great forum for allowing oneself to anonymously opine... the hard thing is as Christians we need to do it with truth in love and do it first face to face brother to brother. If that does not work then bring a witness. I hope your walk with the Lord finds you deep and meaningful examples of Christ's love.
